My Day-end Feelings & My Special Thanks:

This was a short trip for all of us but I really enjoyed myself very much... The group took care of one another, ensured that all of us stayed together and we had laughters throughout the trip..

For Tat & myself, we finally travelled on a holiday!! Though this is not his ideal place of interest and he was quite reluctant to go initially, he took good care of me, accompanied me for all my shopping & shared my euthusiasm in the things that attracted me!!

He is also the only one who is willing to do all sorts of poses with me in front of the camera... the one who is willing to sacrifice his own fun to accompany me... the one who is willing to spend his every cent on me...the only one who is willing to take my nonsense when I woke him up at night to switch off the TV & even pacify & coax me to sleep when i started kicking the blankets in the middle of the night...

For all the above, im grateful & touched for all that u have done... Thank u Wei Tat... :) Muackz..

*Our next trip will be to HK and above or to Australia and below!!! * ~Hopefully HK coz i want to go DisneyLand~

For my beloved friends, though this is also the first time we travel as a group... im glad that all of u managed to mingle (the JIans + GFs & the OCs + Mr CK)... Though we had some sick birds amongst us, but we spared thoughts for them and ensured safety amongst us... Im happy to have friends like you...No regrets having u guys around.

*Especially want to thank Nick & Jenny for playing good host during the whole trip... u 2 were always planning and taking care of all of us... though workaholic (they work in a travel agency) but was good for us... A BIG THANK U to the 2 love birds!!*

Im sure in the near future, we will be planning more overseas trips or even outings!!

Sunday Cultural "Walkathon"

This special Sunday 22.07.07, 4 people set off to a day of cultural adventure in Spore...

The first stop visited was Little India and since it was a Sunday, the ratio of Indians to Chinese was 9:1 !!!! *u probably wouldnt have noticed the presence of the Chinese*

Outside The Banana Leaf Apollo Restaurant (Famous South Indian Restaurant)

Upon arrival, it seems as if we have really travelled to India as the culture, food, stores & people were entirely different from the ususal streets in Bugis, Orchard or Marina. *Interesting but it was a bad experience for xxx...erm, i shallnt mention who*

Following, we continued our journey by foot to Arab Street to visit the famous mosque...

On our way there, we had to pass by Jalan Besar, where the flea markets were *Dad's favourite 'shopping' place*

Seems that people there sell anything & everything under the sun!!! We saw SAF sports shoes, mahjong, jades, vases, clothes... etc & most interestingly a WILD BOAR HEAD!!!

Wonder if they really make money or only to past time... ??? hmmm, i wonder!!!

Finally we arrived at the mosque and we took a walk round the vicinity... Quite a lot of foreigners..

We did not spend a lot of time there as we were supposed to meet Kel for dinner at CHINATOWN!!!

From Arab street, we walked to Bugis Junction to board the train... *Quite a distant but we enjoyed it as we were enjoying the environment & taking pics... ~Hee~

*Tat, probably the only guy who is willing to do silly poses with me* So sweet!!!

See this pic that we took at Bugis Junction where the wedding fair is held! *Cute*Sweet*

Finally we arrived at CHINATOWN where we are going to have our dinner...

We ordered the famous claypot rice, the bean sauce SONG fish-head & Fried Kway Teow.... All these specialities from this market had min waiting time of 30 mins!!! ~Goodness~

From the string of activities that u read, u must have shared the tiredness in us having to walk throughout the day.... SO.... our last stop, we decided to visit my fav FOOT REFLEXOLOGY PARLOUR!!! We called for appointment and of coz had to make sure my masseur, ANG was available...*He's good!!!*

Then we called it a day ~HOME SWEET HOME~ZZzzzzzzzz~

YummY HK Dim Sum... Where to find?

Today's highlight is to introduce a stall that sells delicious HK DIM SUM~Victor's Kitchen~

Yum Yum!!! *Hao Sei*
~in cantonese~

Located in Sunshine Plaza #01-21 (91 Bencoolen Street), this place sells Dim Sum that are made & sold on the spot... Freshness Guaranteed!!

The man behind the scenes of these delicious Dim Sum is none other than Victor Leung who has 20 years of experience as a Dim Sum Chef...

His specialities includes:

  • Steamed Carrot Cake (with XO sauce) *A must try as its really different from those sold at else where*
  • Lo Mai Kai (Steamed chicken with glutinous rice)
  • Custard Buns
  • King's Prawn Har Kau
And many others that are simply tasty!! ~i have tried most of them and has never fault any~

Today is my second visit there and this time we discovered more good dishes...*During our first visit, we liked the Spare Ribs with black bean sauce & this time we fell in love with their carrot cake* ~Bascially everything is GOOD there~BRAVO~

The seating arrangements at this little stall are unique too...

You can choose to sit either directly outside the stall or rather the kitchen (Probably accomodating a dozen folks) or choose to sit on the other side of the mall where they rent a shop just for tables & chairs (probably another dozen folks)

You can eat at ease without having to worry abt the hole in your pocket...Prices are reasonable and definitely affordable!!

Being inexpensive yet mouthwatering, i strongly recommend Dim Sum lovers like me to give it a try!!!

Victor's Kitchen is open Tuesday - Sunday, 10am - 9pm and he does Catering too!!!

Give it a try if u have the time... or if u happen to have any good places in mind for FOOD, do feel free to share with me...Always remember, my cbox is just a click away :)

Simple Life, Simple Us

It is just another ordinary Sat for the 2 of us... no intention to go anywhere to spend $$$ or to meet any friends for chill out.

For a simple reason, we are both tired!!

~Tired from work~Tired of having to wake up early everyday and drag ourselves to work~Tired from the shopping during weekdays(more on me)~Dont wish to squeeze with the crowd in town~

Sat is usually for re-charging in order to meet the challenges of a new week *So Sickening*

Though we usually spent our time at home or neighbouring malls during weekends, it is something that both of us look forward to... esp during Dinner!!!

It has been a routine (without fail as long as we are there) for us to order Fried Rice (the chilli is great ~imagine this statement is coming from a non-spicy eater!! ) + a fried Vegetable from this store at Pioneer Mall...

It's YUMMY!!! *Ren2 Qi4 Wang4* ~those who know me well will know this action!!~

Life may be simple, less shopping, less meet ups but this is the life that we like...

*Simple Life, Simple Us*

Bon Appetite!!!

~Pichon French Restaurant & Bar~20.07.07~

An evening at Pichon to taste French cuisine & experience the ambience in a French Restaurant. We arrived at 48 Boat Quay at about 7.15pm and was greeted by the Director of Marketing, Jess. She had reserved seats for both me & TaT by the riverside but we requested to be seated at Level 2 when the ambience was more romantic...*SweeT*

The decoration of the place (Level 2) was cosy, romantic and classy!!! *Highly recommended for couples*

We 'booked' the whole place for yesterday as the whole level had only 2 of us (as customers), while the rest chose to sit downstairs by the river and we even had a private waitress to attend to us... *Nice*

We had chosen to take the 5-course dinner set which cost $65.00+ & here goes our order:

TaT:

  • Perrier
  • Free Flow of French Bread
  • Appetitzer ~ Smoked Duck Breast with Salad
  • Main Course ~ Salmon En Croute
  • Dessert ~ Profiteroles filled with Vanilla ice cream
  • Tea with Milk
Me!!:

  • Perrier
  • Free Flow of French Bread
  • Appetizer ~ Garlic Tiger Prawns *BEST*
  • Main Course ~ Tenderloin with Bearnaise Sauce
  • Dessert ~ Chocolate Fondant with ice cream
  • Tea

Food review:

The food is good and its definitely worth a second visit (this time will be by the riverside). Our favourite:

*GARLIC TIGER PRAWNS!!!!*

Even TaT who is not a seafood lover expressed "THUMBS UP"!! Well Done Chef David :)

The main courses were delicious as well and the bearnaise sauce that i had chosen for my terderloin had alcohol added... Bravo!!

My dessert was also a killer... The chocolate lava just melts in your mouth and it is being neutralised when u eat it with the ice cream!! YUM YUM!!!
(Important lesson learnt: For desserts, you are supposed to take the fruits first, else they will taste sour if u take them after the highlights)

Conclusion:

Wonderful experience, romantic ambience, Delicious Food, Affordable price ~Definitely worth a second visit~

*Recommended!*
