The Adventure of Haw Par Villa

Just as i thought the outing is going to be cancelled due to poor response, im glad Tat suggested that we go ahead without the rest... So the three of us proceeded and Peggy who did not want to be labelled as 'lighbulb' volunteered to be our photographer.

The place is quite run down - only a few people and not much maintainence done. However, there is a cafeteria or rather canteen (with limited food) - at least for people like us to take a rest and also quench our thirst.

Admission is free except for the "10 Courts of Hell"... $1 for adults and $0.50 for children below 12.

For those who havent been there (before or for a long time), here's the images for viewing:

Welcome to Haw Par Villa!!

Then we took some FUN shots...

~Above: Our Zodiac ; Below: A 60's photo~

Then it was fighting the tigers!!

Visiting the 10 Courts of Hell; we did not take any pictures inside because it's dark and i thought it's not very nice to take pictures of people suffering. The below is taken before we entered the gates and it's also my favourite shot for the day:

Tat and I decided that we shall blow up this picture for our new house:

~Isnt it meaningful?~

We met up with Lily after the adventure and had dinner at Lot 1 - Wan Chai Cafe. Everyone ordered food that was delicious except Me... Mine was so-so only... So sad!! Lucky there was chicken wings that saved the meal!

Went shopping at Cotton On where Lily and i bought a long cardigan!! Hers had a discount due to the colour and i had to pay full price for a black piece....*How could they do this to me? :( *

Anyway, we ended the day at Kbox - Jurong East where we screamed at the top of our lungs!!! Quite expensive but it was Wonderful "opening our throats"... havent done it for the longest time!! *SHIOK!*

Conclusion: It was a great day especially now that i look at the photos and see that i STILL look good in Sunglasses *have chunked it aside for very long* and im still an outdoor photogenic person!!! Yippie!! And i love this Esprit blouse!! Haha...

A week has passed again

Oh... last week was a stressful one, thus leaving me no time to blog.

While i need to handle the news (that i can only break next week) emotionally & psychologically, im also rushing to run the July Promotion... (with many many hiccups too!)

Anyway, let's see some interesting pictures of the week:

20 June:
Went to Brewerks @ Riverside Point with Nikki, Erin, Julian, Lily, Peggy and Tat. They ordered a tower of STOUT and that got most of them tipsy!! Hehe... Lucky i ordered Cosmopolitan (pic below) and Lily had her Strawberry Margarita. ~CHEERS!~

Oh then the lousy week begins with hectic work:

25 June 08:
Spend half the day at a photo studio. The shoot was not about pretty and beautiful faces but rather FOOD... We even had a food stylist whose job is to dress up the items and add colours to make them look Appetizing!!!

Let's see if she succeeded:

Seems easy but it's very time consuming!! I'll post the full ad once it's out on 2 July 08. Stay Tuned!!

27 June:
Everyone seems to have a program and so it created an opportunity for me and Tat to go on a date.

Before we met, i was shopping at Robinsons (there's additional 20% for OCBC Cardmembers!!!) and i spotted a bag... It's the similar type of bag i have been aiming lately... (i was inspired by the LV version actually but...) This one cost $200++ and im thinking really hard if i should buy it...

We went to Mint Cafe and the food is Great!!! Both the chicken and the tenderloin steak taste great. The chef is a perfectionist that he re-did my steak when he realised that it was slightly over medium. The only minus factor is that you need to bear with the slight smell on your body after you leave the restaurant.

After dinner, we walked all the way to Emily Hill - Wild Oats for a drink... Here's the full address and you can visit this website for their pictures:

11 Upper Wilkie Road

Tat ordered fruit beer with 8.5% alcohol content while i took the sangria. What could not be missing was CHICKEN WINGS!!! ~YummY~

And that ends the week with a good night sleep (Due to the alcohol)....

Life is Full of Changes

Just last week i was planning the activities for the upcoming weeks...but it seems that some of them will not happen...

  • Im still thinking if i want to proceed for the Haw Par Villa outing... Hmmm, KIV!

答案即将揭晓

  • 12 July - Malacca Trip... Still deciding if i should leave Tat alone in Singapore for the trip...Hmmm, what a dilemma!!
  • 13 July - It's Clarence's Birthday!! I shall go search for his birthday present this week!! Obviously it's going to be Barney or 叮当 related!!

Despite the plans, im not sure which of it will fall through... Let's hope everything goes well and there are no more hiccups at school!!!

Fly Fly into the Sky

Oh... We finally utilised the complimentary ticket to Singapore Flyer... If not for the expiry date in June, we probably would have waited for IR to be completed before visiting it.

Decided to go in the afternoon so that it's bright enough for photography... Didnt want to see skylight... Prefer to see facade!!! *Hehe*

Anyway, headed straight to Singapore Flyer after a House-warming session and i must say it's a wonderful trip!! ~FLY~

*Here we go*

I kind of like the place (not only the capsule)... the structure is good with mixture of greenery and commercial shopping for consumers. And i took SO many photos (as if i was in New York... haha) and I definitely didnt regret going in the afternoon... We even bought the simulated background photo from them!!!

Here are some combined shots... Still many more for posting but Im tired of the cut and paste process... Look out from friendster... Maybe i'll post the interesting ones there :p

*Beautiful Shots*

Also, we tried Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits and sad to say we didnt quite enjoy it though... Perhaps it's true that only the airport one is good or we were still full.. Somehow we still prefer KFC and i thought it tasted more like a combination of KFC and A & W (for the fries)...

~ 2pc chicken set meal @ $6.90~

Finale shot before I left for work... *Though we were standing behind a glass, i really think the frame would make a perfect picture with the orchids...Too bad there was reflections!!*

Weekly Updates... So many things yet no time to blog!!

To cut the story short and simple as we are all busy people, here's what happened between 8 June - 13 June 08!!!

8 - 10 June 08:
Nothing special happened except rushing for my assignment!!! Argghhhh.... So irritating!! It's getting on my nerves when i have nothing to write. As i start to squeeze my brain juice, i end up exceeding the number of words and i have to go through the "cutting of words process"... *Haiz!!*

Then we received an email indicating that there is an extension of deadline as the lecturer wants us to read the comments for the first assignment before submission of the second... Deadline postponed to 17 June... ~Should i be happy???~ (actually no because i want to get it off my mind as soon as possible)

11 June 08:
Had dinner with Peggy at Jurong East and i found something that i have been looking for - Capsule Machine in a Capsule Machine!!!

Of all the silly capsules that i see, im only fascinated by these miniature ones and they must be from Disney (not too interested if it's the other characters). ~So happy~

But im still thinking if i want to waste money to collect all.. Maybe not since it's just something cute that i want to have 1 for the fun of it only!!

12 June 08:
Found another interesting thing... Recommended by one of my colleagues.. Wrist rest in a bread shape and the thing is, it smells, looks and feels like a REAL Bread!!! Even the fillings inside looks real... Someone's maid actually cut open the bread to eat it!!! *Goodness*

Interesting!!!

Available @ Action City - $4.95 each (Retail Price)

13 June 08:
Met up with Lily to get one of Tat's wives' present (Number 4 i think)... And we had dinner at Coffee Club - Paragon. Nothing special about the dinner but the chill-out session was fun.

Went to Que Pasa for its Red Sangria... Nice!!! Plus the chicken wings, it's heavenly!!

And we call it a week after all the activities!!! *Tired*

My Deepest Condolences

My deepest heartfelt condolences to Wendy, an acquaintance whom i hardly talk to but is a good friend and colleague to my sister in-law.

She lost her husband to cancer yesterday night.

To Wendy:

Words cannot relieve the pain that you are undergoing
Yet, we all want you to stand strong for the sake of the 3 children - The fruits of your late hubby and yourself
We are here to help and stand by you through the toughest moments in life
To bring you light at the end of the tunnel, seeing the smile on your lovely face again

~With deepest sympathy,
Dedicated to Wendy and the young ones~

The wheels on the bus goes round and round....

This is a story of a young couple being stucked in a bus for an hour plus... The bus brought them round and round and round...

They met and had a 'perfect' dinner at Square 2... The dinner was 'perfect' because the lady found the main course good *nothing special but tasty* while the man simply loved the dessert. After dinner, they proceeded to Great World City for their movie ~KungFu Panda~ but since the queue for the cab was long, they headed for the bus.

They boarded 851 and it would take them to Tiong Bahru where they would actually change another bus for 1 Kim Seng Promenade. The bus finally arrived after a long journey and due to over-eagerness, they boarded 195 from the bus stop they alighted and to their horror, the bus brought them to Alexandra!! Unsure if the bus would really end up at Zion Road, they alighted at Queenstown MRT.

They switched to another bus 970 which confirmed its destination at Great World City!! Oh Man, what a night, spending an hour plus moving up and down.

In the end, upon arrival at Great World City, all the shops were closed and there was nothing to see. They waited for the movie to start at a bench. They started to play games - 成语接龙 and also to take some pictures.

Now you know the leads of the story... And how i spent my Friday Night going round and round!!Hahahaha!!!

Pissed off!!

I was pissed off by the service that Nokia rendered and this is what is going to appear in one of their mail boxes tomorrow morning:

I want to see how they would respond and if my phone would be indeed be ready by tomorrow!!

To the person in charge:

Im shocked by the kind of service personnel assigned at your care centres. I was at the Woodlands branch sending my new Nokia 6500S for repair as the camera button was not in function at all.

For your information, this phone was purchased barely less than a week. Im disappointed from the policy that Nokia has imposed as well as the service rendered.

Firstly, consumers are strictly not allowed for exchange for a defect phone even if it's a day old. Considering that I bought a new phone as the previous had broken down, i cannot imagine myself without the reach of my clients and partners.

Secondly, i was advised and 'consoled' by your service staff that mine is merely an unserious problem. No urgency required!!! There are some cases where the LCDs go blank on the first day of purchase!!! Is he trying to convey that Nokia products are often like that???? Or is he implying that i should not even send my phone in for repair???

Thirdly, as a service personnel, he displayed no signs of professionalism in attitude and handling of the phone. He spoke as if i was his long lost friend!! I understand that he's trying to be friendly but i ought to see some form of professionalism in his working attitude. To make things worse, he removed my SIM Card without even switching off my phone!!! "Oops...sorry!!" in a joking way was his only response when i questioned him.

In addition, i was not offered a spare phone despite explaining that i needed my phone urgently and requesting if any technicians could look into it immediately. I was only offered a 6230i when i asked directly.

And to my horror, the contacts of the previous user were still in the phone. I would like to ask if Nokia allows the leakage of numbers to everyone and the circulation just goes on??? Am i to draw conclusion that should there be obscenities in the phone to be passed to a underage user???

Again the spare phone was not switched off when he inserted my SIM Card.

Seeing that he was trying to delete those contacts, i rejected taking up the spare phone which would require a deposit of $50 (Without a charger!!!)

I think Nokia should review your policies to allow immediate exchange for phones that are found with defects within 7 days. Instead of trying to get temp staff, i suggest service staff to undergo proper service training in service quality as well as technically.

I was told that i would be informed if my phone could not be ready by 3 June, after 5pm. I seriously hope there will not be any delays as this is clearly an error in the production - show-casing the lack of quality control. As consumers who have paid for the product, i dont think we should incur any lost in business for an error caused by Nokia.

Sunday is Beauty Day!!

I always like to start the week with Freshness, Confidence and Beauty. That's why Sunday is Beautify Me Day !! I try as much as i can to have all Sunday nights free so that i have ample time for all the treatments.

From the head:

  • Dead Sea Hair Mask after Shampoo (Bought this product recently for $41 and it's quite good...U feel an instant layer of protection on your hair after it)
  • Facial Mask (This is used weekly and on alternate Sundays)
  • Eye Mask (I tried this recently for my dark circles and im using it every 2-3 days)

To the body & self:

  • Waxing for my underarms and legs ( i try to do them once a week if not as soon as i have time as this one takes longer waiting time and i cant do other things while waiting)
  • Self Mani/PediCure (If i dont have time to visit the salon for my package then i have to DIY... Recently bought Blink Blink stickers to be added onto my nails)

Lastly, i try to have my brows plucked once a month (but usually i drag till 2 months or more...)

With the above, im ready to start my Monday!!! ~though i will still feel tired~

Oh My... It's Bursting!!!

Shopping cant seem to stop whenever i step out of the house. The initial plan was only to go for foot reflexology to heal our tired feet and dinner but we ended up with shopping after that...

Filling dinner at Ichiban Sushi and we bought clothes and more clothes...

My card is bursting soon and I'm very sure Mr Teng will be SHOCKED to see the bills at the end of the month.. Didn't use my cards as OCBC Cards had special redemption privileges and my OCBC Card is a supp from him!!! ~Goodness~UOB & DBS, do something!!!

Anyway, yet another great deal but this time from bYSI!! I enjoyed 25% off for the purchase of a low-cut blouse... Love It!! AND 50% off from Red2 for a dress... + Dinner + all previous buys... Oh no... Mr Teng, this blog entry serves to pre-empt you before you open the envelope!!! :P

~[i will still save money for our Punggol Sapphire, ok]~

Sad to say, Sun, no more sneaking out for shopping... Got to stay Home to complete my assignment!!!

* Be a Good Girl, Korina!! :) *
